Today marks my 70th day cold-turkey sobriety from Coca-Cola and I can still whole-heartedly say I am VERY STRONGLY addicted (I figure I’ve been drinking it for 35 years). Even the mention in today’s New York Times that Coca-Cola will be dropping “Classic” from their labels is enough to send me into a tailspin. It is a conscious and daily choice. Tomorrow, I start trying to give up all soda entirely.

Hello–Well done you!!
I too am addicted to Diet Coke–I gave it up one New Years Day and made it til Dec 15 of that same year–went on a year long binge and then this New Years -it -again- was my new years resolution to give it up –and I am on day 31!!
I think about Diet coke as though it was my lover–I can feel it going down my throat and just seeing Diet Coke signs make me weak!
I have heard there are things in Diet Coke that make it so addictive and I believe this to be true!!
Stay strong sista–also-weight flies off my body once I stop drinking Diet Coke too—there is simply nothing dietetic about it!!
All the best–
