Adrienne Moumin has some very exciting hand-printed silver gelatin photographs and unique photo collages in her Picturexhibit Studio Gallery in Silver Spring, MD. Most feature architectural landmarks from New York City and DC. This exacting artist has been working with black & whites for well over 15 years. She’s involved in Artomatic 09 and in a group meet-up for collage and assemblage artists. Adrienne recently took one of my art journaling classes and we exchanged information. When I went to go check out her site, this is part of what I found. Just beautiful.
The Women’s Media Center (Making Women Visible and Powerful in the Media) is headquartered in New York City. Four major programs include:
Sexism Sells (But We’re Not Buying It); Progressive Women’s Voices; Unspinning the Spin; and Women in Entertainment.
Basically, the WMC (founded in 2005) works to ensure that women’s stories are told and women’s voices are heard. They have a media advocacy campaign, they create their own media, and they train women to participate directly in the media.
