Shauna Lee Lange Studios of Port Charlotte, Florida has a big heart for community service and non-profit charitable events that truly are the lifeblood of an organization’s ability to make a substantial difference in this uncertain world. It’s nicer even when the event is being held at the Ritz Carlton Naples Beach Resort on Friday, November 11 (11/11/11) to support education and Southwest Florida’s community of children. As in years past, the entire team at The Immokalee Foundation has been hard at work getting everything in order to make their annual event another exciting evening of fun, celebration and generosity.
The Studios’ CEO and Creative Director Shauna Lee Lange will be volunteering for the evening in lending her particular arts interests and skills to auction, design and entertainment venues scheduled for the night. Last year, The Immokalee Foundation’s 2010 Charity Classic was officially declared a success and included an evening dinner dance, and silent and live auctions for 400 guests as well as the Pro-Am golf tournament at Bay Colony with 24 five-somes hosting a world-famous golf pro on each team.
The 2010 event raised a record-breaking $1.5 million in revenue for the Foundation’s educational programs for the children of Immokalee. Auction events featured a flying adventure on a Phantom F4 fighter aircraft and a private tour of Jay Leno’s garage stocked with pricey and priceless automobiles. The Pro-Am Golf Tournament raised more than $500,000, making it among the most successful charity golf events in Southwest Florida.
Since 1991, The Immokalee Foundation has been building pathways to success for many of the children in Immokalee through a variety of programs that focus on mentorship, after-school activities, college scholarships, the development of vocational skills and incentives for educational growth. In 2009, The Immokalee Foundation served 2,700 children through its core programs.
The Immokalee Foundation offers a road map toward a brighter future. It helps manage seven core programs including Take Stock in Children, Vocational Success, College Success, Direct Scholarships, The First Tee of Naples/Collier Program in Immokalee, Immokalee Readers and Community Grants.
