Art of Life Coaching for Women & Girls
Shauna Lee Lange is a very uniquely trained and certified life and art coaching practice with specialized talents in facilitating and coaching creative businesses for women and girls. We pull from the fields of women’s studies, spirit and higher power, self-help and self-development and we mix it all together in a big paint can of transformative creativity, imagination, art and expression. We believe every girl and woman is an artist, she just may not know it yet. Or she knew it once and forgot. We use a tremendous amount of art journaling, visual diaries and sketchbooks in the growth process and whether you think you can draw or not, this all works together to create powerful life effectiveness strategies for you.
With many experienced years in management consulting, leadership training, and serving the public in advisory information brokering, I seek to educate, embolden and encourage women in their day-to-day walk. In short, I’m an idea broker, concept developer, or creativity enthusiast. What that means is that I am qualified to work towards empowering women and communities to envision, enlarge and exemplify their best selves based on sound practices, research & analytics, and contemporary coaching techniques. I love Thomas Carlyle’s words: “The fearful unbelief is unbelief in yourself.”
During a 15+ year career in Federal Civil Service and the U.S. Military, I had the opportunity to assume new and challenging roles every 12 months or so. Significant change and I are good old friends. However, from 1990 – present, I adapted to that change only through the power of art immersion with artists, organizations, galleries, and museums. From January to September 2011, I produced and hosted a weekly community radio show at Konk Broadcasting Network in Key West, Florida where I conducted many intensive one hour interviews with women community leaders. Together we addressed the challenges women face in today’s society in trying to balance self, home, work, technology, and family.
That work was the foundational ah-ha moment for my increasing desire to take an advisory arts practice (coaching artists, galleries and non-profits) into the realm of working more closely with women and girls in matters of creative importance to them. Especially as I received calls from listeners who want to talk about emotionally difficult issues and challenges impacting their lives, my own path became clearer and more focused. As I look back, I can see the sign-posts along the way that indicate this very well may have been my life’s work and calling. Tapping into those clues in helping others self-identify is one of the things we can help you sort through.
My firm is comprised of a network of professional service providers and administrators who not only support women, but support the artistic expression of women and pathways of communication. We are proud 2011 members of the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) and the National Association of Investigative Specialists (NAIS). My Life Coaching Certification was achieved in 2010 through the Advanced Life Coaching Institute (ALCI). I regularly participate in ongoing training and education in the field of life coaching, such as a January 2012 seminar on positive psychology with Christopher Peterson, PhD. I also participate in arts venues, such as a January 2012 design exposition featuring Home & Garden TV’s Joe Ruggiero; a Tom Sachs premier video on color; and a Traci Bautista Strathmore online workshop. My firm is also a past member in good standing with the International Coach Federation (ICF).
It’s important that life coaches stay in the know about best-practice field developments and network with other people in the helping fields. We participate through Coach U and the ICF in the Career Coaches Special Interest Group which helps us give to the profession on an ongoing basis. I also regularly review tapes and instructional videos from Sounds True. I hold multiple other proficiencies in quantitative and qualitative analysis, probably too many to mention! We’re skilled mediators, negotiators and dispute resolutionists particularly in the field of civil rights, equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion and we understand the plight of the working woman.
